To all Castle Pines North citizens:

The Castle Pines North City Council will consider the next procedural step that is legally required in The Canyons annexation application at tonight's City Council meeting, 7 p.m. at the CPN Community Center, 7404 Yorkshire Drive.

The city will consider whether the application submitted by The Canyons representatives is eligible for annexation under Colorado law. The process is a technical assessment of the application documents only.

"Because of the public interest in this issue, we want to keep our community apprised of this incremental step," says Mayor Maureen Shul. "I have been pleased with The Canyons' strong public outreach and community interaction since receiving their application in April. We will continue to work closely with our community and The Canyons to make sure that our residents remain informed every step of the way."

Representatives from The Canyons began a series of open house meetings with Castle Pines North residents in May, and more are planned throughout the summer. Please refer to the city Web site, www.castlepinesgov.com, for further information.
