Aug. 19, 2009 — City of Castle Pines North elected officials, citizens, and members of the Castle Pines Parks Authority and Castle Pines North Metropolitan District broke ground at the city's newest park in the Lagae development area on Friday, Aug. 14.
"Bringing a new city park to Castle Pines North is a testament to what can be accomplished for our citizens when all entities can work together in a coordinated and collaborative way," says Mayor Maureen Shul. "This park is significant because citizens had a voice in where they wanted it to be built, and it's the first park in the Lagae development area."
Home Owner's Association 1 donated some of the land to the city to build the park. Construction is funded by the Castle Pines Parks Authority.
Upon completion next summer, the park is expected to include an athletic field, playground, community garden, adventure area, and outdoor adventure learning lab, with parking areas and open space for all citizens to enjoy. A detailed map of the proposed park layout is available online.
