Sept. 14, 2009 — The Castle Pines North City Council unanimously voted on Sept. 10 to repay the Master Association $144,000 for expenses associated with incorporation.
The city will make payments to the Master Association during a 12-month period.
City Attorney Linda Michow will document the vote with an appropriate agreement that will be presented to the Master Association Board on Sept. 17.
During the incorporation effort, it was agreed that appropriate incorporation expenses would be repaid within the legal and ethical boundaries set forth by municipal government statutes. City Treasurer Doug Gilbert, Deputy City Treasurer Scott Stewart, Councilperson Chip Coppola and Councilperson Kim Hoffman worked to establish a vote within the City Council following the city’s receipt of invoices from the Master Association, in addition to subsequent review by Michow.
"The city would like to thank the Master Association for its patience with the formal process and the efforts of the Repayment Committee for preparing the documentation and bringing the request to City Council," says Mayor Maureen Shul.
