To all Castle Pines North citizens,
The City of Castle Pines North has received its back-taxes from Douglas County after submitting its overdue financial audit.
Local government audit manager for the State of Colorado Crystal Dorsey instructed Douglas County to withhold property-tax revenue, estimated at approximately $4,500 in pending property taxes, until the city submitted the audit document.
"We regret issues related to our being a new city caused the delay in our audit filing, and we are pleased the withheld taxes have been released to our city," says Mayor Maureen Shul.
The audit is currently under review; if any issues arise, the city will receive a letter stating the issues.
