To all Castle Pines North citizens:
The City of Castle Pines North had three plow trucks out all night. Due to the wet, heavy and blowing snow, crews initially focused on keeping primary streets plowed. They began addressing secondary streets about 7:30 a.m. A fourth truck is being routed into service and was anticipated to be working by mid-morning. The warm weather that preceded the storm means streets were warm, so roadways are mostly slushy, limiting the need for use of deicing material.
Areas within the city, including city offices, are experiencing power outages; Intermountain Rural Electric Association is working to address those. The Castle Pines Public Works Department has reached out to provide assistance as needed by IREA.
Despite the outages, city offices are open and staff members are on the job. If you have an emergency, please call 9-1-1 immediately. To report problems or request other assistance, please call 303.705.0200 or submit the form on our Web site.
Conditions are expected to improve throughout the day. However, residents are urged to travel only if absolutely necessary and then be aware that icy spots can develop as temperatures remain below freezing.
