To all Castle Pines North residents:
Our ability as a new City to assist and support the development of our unique community will depend directly on the type of businesses we are able to attract and retain. Attracting the right kind of unique, high end businesses that consumers desire is a very competitive game. Recently Council member Doug Gilbert was asked by Mayor Huff to attend a site selector conference in Denver. Site selectors are professionals who advise corporations on where to locate new business investments. The conference gave the Castle Pines community the opportunity to learn how well they fare in the competitive game of attracting businesses. The key areas to note that must be addressed include the high property taxes in our community, due primarily to metro district taxes. The economic environment in Castle Pines where businesses and government can collaboratively work together is an advantage for our community that must be shared at every opportunity. The slide show presents an overview of the Site Selector Conference and the analysis performed.
