CASTLE PINES NORTH, Colo., Dec. 1, 2008 —The City of Castle Pines North has a new service on its Web site to help keep citizens informed about official city activities.

Available from the home page at www.castlepinesgov.com, the service will be used to send periodic e-mail alerts to subscribers whenever the city has important news to share, such as news releases and newsletters, upcoming meetings, emergency alerts and more.

People can subscribe by going to the Web site, clicking on the sign-up link, and entering their e-mail address. Once they subscribe, the system will send back a confirmation e-mail that people must click on to activate the subscription. The city news subscription is free.

In addition to receiving general Castle Pines North news, citizens can also choose to receive official city information relevant to Ward 1, 2 or 3.

"This news distribution service is another way for the city to help keep citizens informed about events and work going on around town," said Mayor Maureen Shul. "It's another easy way for people to connect into the business of their city government."

Names and e-mail addresses will not be shared with any other entity. People can select the link at the bottom of every e-mail to unsubscribe, or to receive less or more information.

Incorporated Feb. 12, 2008, Castle Pines North is a city of about 10,000 people located about 20 miles south of Denver in Douglas County.
