Castle Pines North, Douglas County enter agreement
for snow removal throughout winter season
Contract managed through city’s new Public Works department

CASTLE PINES NORTH, Colo., Jan. 20, 2009 — The Castle Pines North City Council and the Board of Commissioners for Douglas County have voted to enter into an intergovernmental agreement for Douglas County to manage snow removal for the city.

The county had committed to providing snow removal services to the city for one year following the incorporation of Castle Pines North on Feb. 12, 2008. Through the new agreement, Douglas County will continue to provide snow removal services from Feb. 13 to May 31, 2009, on those streets within city boundaries that currently are maintained by the county.

"Douglas County has been a great partner to the City of Castle Pines North as we have transitioned services and started to grow," said Mayor Maureen Shul. "Citizens will not see any interruptions in service and can be assured that our city's snow removal needs will be handled through the rest of this season."

Douglas County assigns a snow and ice removal priority to each street in Castle Pines North. More information can be found at www.douglas.co.us/publicworks/ or by calling Douglas County Public Works at 303.660.7480.
