Castle Pines North seeks new city manager

CASTLE PINES NORTH, Colo., March 16, 2010 — The City of Castle Pines North is currently taking applications for a part-time city manager.

City Council has appointed Kirby Chaney to fill the vacancy on an interim basis while the city searches for a part-time city manager with the potential for permanent employment.

The city is looking for a part-time city manager to provide:

  • Daily oversight and management of city services, which are currently provided through an independent contractor, CH2M HILL and through the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Financial oversight and management of city budget and contracts.
  • Recommendations and implementation of procedures, framework, and policies related to start-up of a new city.
  • Collaborative and direct involvement with the CPN Metro District, CPN Master Association, and CPN Parks Authority.
  • Participation in all City Council meetings, committee meetings, community meetings (as may be requested by City Council).
  • Ability to implement Council goals of economic development, CPN Metro District integration, intergovernmental relations, and long-term financial stability for CPN and its citizens.

Qualified applicants will have at least 10 years experience as a city manager, a 4-year degree in public administration or business and 10 or more years of supervisory and/or management experience. Compensation for the position will be in accordance with the candidate’s knowledge and experience.
